Hi, I'm Mary Beth Ray — yoga therapist, bone health specialist, and someone who has osteopenia herself. I made this course for you.

If you've been wondering whether yoga is safe for your bones — or how to get started without fear — this course is for you.

Three lessons teach you the why, the what, and the how of yoga for your vital bones.

Video instruction plus text and additional resources are offered in this self-paced course to help you answer your questions and begin with confidence.

You'll learn:

  • The Why:  why yoga is uniquely beneficial for the health of our bones
  • The What:  what is yoga and how to setup a practice at home
  • The How:  how to practice safely so you can maximize every benefit

This course lays the foundation for a safe, personalized yoga practice — one that takes into account your fitness level, your experience, your history of injuries, and any previous fractures. Whatever you're working with, you'll learn how to practice in a way that is genuinely right for your body.

Why am I offering this for free?

Because I don't want you to fear your bones. And I don't want fear to keep you off the mat.

The practice of yoga doesn't fit onto a one-page handout — and you deserve more than a list of poses to do or not do. The teaching is a combination of what and how, along with the why, so you can make the best choices for yourself.

Take your time with it. It's the foundation of everything.

What students tell me when asked ...

What was the most helpful thing you learned from this course?

  • CM says...

"Understanding that yoga can be done correctly and appropriately despite the current status of my spine and bones, and can benefit them."

  • DB says...

"The most helpful thing was not being too afraid to practice, and to be mindful rather than wary of poses. You confirmed what I thought might be the way to go with my practice."

  • JK says...

"The detailed cues about how to stand regally with collar bones open, ears aligned, pelvis tilted slightly and abs supporting. This is a default which is really great to keep safe and to get optimal results with stimulating bones."

"Your information, organization and videos were excellent." ~ SF
